How much will it Cost to Install 1Kw Solar Panels

Solar panels are becoming a necessity for everyone today because electricity bills have increased significantly compared to before, and we are also using more significant appliances in our homes, such as washing machines, coolers, air conditioners, and so on. So, the more appliances you use, the higher your electricity bill will be.

To reduce this electricity bill, you can use solar panels. Solar panels not only help reduce electricity bills but also provide you with a battery backup. So, if you want to install a 1-kilowatt solar system in your home, here is the information you need:

How much will it Cost to Install 1Kw Solar Panels

Inside the solar system, various products are used, and their prices vary. Below is the cost of different products so that you can get an idea of how much it might cost if you install 1-kilowatt panels:

Solar Panel For 1 Kw Solar System

In the market, you can find three types of solar panels, and their prices vary. So, if you want to buy solar panels for your solar system, below are the prices of these three types so that you can get an idea of which solar panel fits within your budget and which one might be the best choice for you.

1Kw Poly  Solar Panels Price – Rs.28,000
1Kw Mono Perc Solar Panels Price – Rs.33,000
1Kw Bifacial Solar Panels Price – Rs.38,000

If you have a limited budget, you can go for polycrystalline solar panels. If your budget is good, you can opt for mono Perc panels. And if you want the most advanced technology in solar panels, you can choose bifacial solar panels. However, all three types of solar panels will generate 1 kilowatt of solar power, so it’s not that if you choose 1 kilowatt of polycrystalline panels, they will produce less electricity, or 1 kilowatt of mono panels will produce more.

Solar Charge Controller For 1 Kw Solar System

If you want to install solar panels on your old inverter battery, you will need a solar charge controller. Various companies have produced different solar charge controllers, and their prices vary. Below are some good solar charge controllers that you can use for installing 1-kilowatt solar panels:

– Smarten PWM 12V/24V/50A
– Smarten MPPT 12V/24V/50A (for 24V System)
– Ashapower Surya 60 (for 24V System)

If you want to install 1-kilowatt solar panels on one battery, you can consider Smarten’s PWM technology solar charge controller. If you intend to install 1-kilowatt solar panels on two batteries, you can opt for Ashapower’s Surya solar charge controller.

Inverter For 1 Kw Solar System

To install 1-kilowatt solar panels, you will need an inverter. In the market, you can find several inverters where you can attach 1-kilowatt panels, whether they are single-battery inverters or dual-battery inverters.

Furthermore, in the solar inverter market, you will encounter two technologies:

  1. PWM
  2. MPPT

If you have a limited budget, you can opt for a PWM technology solar inverter. If you prefer a feature-rich and advanced technology inverter, you can choose an MPPT technology inverter. Below are some good inverters for both options.

  1. UTL Gamma plus 1Kva
  2. Luminous NXG Pro 1 Kva
  3. Luminous  Nxg 1450
  4. Luminous Nxg 1850
  5. Smarten Superb 2500

Solar Battery For 1 Kw Solar System

In the market, you can find solar batteries from various companies, and most companies manufacture batteries in standard sizes such as 80Ah, 100Ah, 120Ah, 150Ah, and so on. You can choose a battery size based on your needs. However, the most commonly used size is 150Ah, which is available in the market for approximately 15,000 rupees.

1 kW solar panel installing on an existing inverter

As mentioned earlier, to install solar panels on an existing inverter, you will need a solar charge controller, which you can find in the market for a minimum of ₹3000.

Additionally, Poly solar panels will cost you approximately ₹28,000, and you will also need to spend around ₹5,000 for the stand and wires.

So, your total expense will be approximately ₹36,000, and this will be the lowest-cost solar system. If you opt for Mono PERC technology and an MPPT solar charge controller, the cost can go up to ₹45,000.

1Kw Solar System Cost in India With battery

If you want to install a new solar system in your home, you will need to purchase solar panels. You can get Poly Crystalline solar panels for approximately ₹28,000, and a solar inverter will cost you around ₹12,000.

However, the cost of the battery will depend on your inverter. If you choose an inverter with a single battery, the battery’s cost will be around ₹15,000, and for a two-battery system, it will be approximately ₹30,000.

Total Cost of 1kw Solar System
  • Solar Inverter – Rs.12,000
  • Solar Battery – Rs.15,000
  • Solar Panel – Rs.28,000
  • Extra – Rs.5,000
  • Total – Rs.60,000

So, installing a 1-kilowatt solar system with batteries will cost you approximately ₹60,000. Depending on your budget, you can either set up a new system or save money by adding 1-kilowatt solar panels to your existing inverter battery setup.

FAQ

Question 1. How much does it cost to install a 1-kilowatt solar panel system?
Answer. The cost of installing a 1-kilowatt solar panel system is approximately between ₹30,000 to ₹40,000.

Question 2. What can you run on a 1-kilowatt system?
Answer. With a 1-kilowatt inverter, you can easily run appliances like a cooler, fan, refrigerator, lights, and a computer. However, the runtime of these appliances depends on the capacity of the battery you have installed.

Question 3. How many panels are needed for a 1-kilowatt system?
Answer. For a 1-kilowatt system, you’ll need approximately 3 panels if you opt for polycrystalline technology. This means you’ll need three panels with a capacity of 330 watts each. However, if you go for bifacial technology with a 1-kilowatt solar system, you’ll only need panels with a total capacity of 500 watts.

  1. Best is to install ongrid 3kw-5kw max with battery for inverter fridge(150w) mixie(.5 to 1kw) washing machine(.5 to 1kw) and 3BR with 4 BLDC fans(35w) and LED bulbs(20w) or tubelight(30w) DVR/CCTV( 6)-50w and rest 2-5kw using ongrid to sell to mescom for good price
i have v presently installed 450w bifacial solar panels which gives upto 3-4 hours per with Max 600w(35v*15a) sometimes even 800w(40v*20a) . it used to give 300w but i tuned MPPT battery charge controller to get 1.5kw but have to manually switch off power to inverter from mescom since the inverter don’t shift automatically.
had old 12v 200ah exide c10 solar battery and luminous 700w solar hybrid inverter(they said 1000w). it cost me 25k on bad battery and good ups exchange offer.
so bought online solar panel (21k) MPPT battery charge controller (8k) stand for two solar panel (8k) and 15m DC dual wires ( 4k), 10sqm connectors for panel but not usable and forced to buy 6sqm and cabling laying cost me 2k and useless tech connector work(500rs).
bad advise cost me a lot.
but best is to buy 3-5kw inverter(costly online, 50k)
with bifacial solar panel (6*20k=1.2 lakhs) plus connectors and wire( 6k Max) and 20amp solar panels* six =120amp or 130amp MPPT battery charge controller (30k?) cable laying 5k and stand for six(24k) meaning 2.5 lakhs atleast. if possible good earthing will mean another 10k-29 and lightning protection (20k)
