What is C10 Rating Battery
MASSIMO SOLMAX series batteries come with a C10 rating. This rating indicates the maximum discharge current a battery can provide over a 10-hour period. For example, if your battery has a rating of 150Ah @C10, you can safely draw a load of up to 15A from it. Charging the battery with 15A current allows you to achieve 80% Depth of Discharge (DOD), ensuring the battery’s longevity.
Many people overload batteries with C10 ratings, leading to reduced backup time and decreased battery life. Therefore, it’s crucial to charge and discharge your battery according to its specified rating to ensure optimal performance over a long period.

As mentioned earlier, the price of these batteries varies based on their size. A 100Ah battery would cost around ₹10,000, while a 150Ah battery would cost approximately ₹14,000. These batteries come with several features, including high-pressure die-cast thick tubular positive and pasted negative plates for longer cycle life, 99.98% purity active material for high efficiency, and low water loss.
How long does an inverter battery last?
To determine the backup time of any battery, you first need to know how much load it is powering. However, sometimes the backup time of our batteries varies due to the battery’s condition. If you connect a load of approximately 400W to a 150Ah@C10 rating battery, it can last for about 3 hours. When calculating the backup time for any battery based on your load, the calculation might vary significantly. For example:
Backup time = Battery Capacity / Running Load
Backup time =150Ah X 12V/400w
Backup time = 1800Wah / 400W
Backup time = 4.5 Hours
Here, based on the calculation, a 400W load should last for about 4.5 hours. However, our batteries are never fully discharged. If you discharge a 150Ah@C10 rating battery with a 15A load, you can utilize 80% of its power. If you exceed the 15A load, the battery’s backup time will be reduced.
